Getting started
What char.io is
One toolbox for the bench: connect, design, process, report, and govern.
char.io is a measurement toolbox. It connects to the instruments on your station, holds the test flow and configuration you design, processes the raw data, and generates the report. A governance engine records who owns the run, who may issue or change it, and how long the data is kept.
Recipes follow the international standard you cite. When that method is revised, stored data is reprocessed and you review the analysis. The same toolbox covers any device family you configure. The report takes the shape of that family.
What the toolbox does
| Job | What you do in char.io |
|---|---|
| Connect | Reach instruments over USB, LAN, or GPIB. Settings are stored with the run. |
| Design | Lay out the test flow and its configuration: measurements, conditions, and instrument settings. |
| Process | Condition the raw record, then extract the parameter with a versioned recipe. |
| Report | Generate the report. An issued report stays frozen. |
| Govern | Owner, classification, reviewer, interlock, and retention on every run. |
| Standards | The recipe cites the standard. A revised method reprocesses stored data. |
What stays with a result
- The raw record, unchanged.
- The station snapshot: instruments, fixture, probes, calibration, and settings.
- The condition set required by the result.
- The method version, and the standard it implements.
- The operator who ran or imported the measurement.
