Getting started
What a result is allowed to claim
A filled result is a measurement until the lab marks it guaranteed.
Every reported value is one of four kinds: measured, guaranteed, a stress limit, or empty. The kind is visible on the result. The governance engine keeps those kinds apart.
The four kinds
| Kind | What it claims |
|---|---|
| Measured | A result from a characterization run. Typical is one device. Min and max are the other devices in that set. |
| Guaranteed | A min or max the lab warrants, and only after the lab marks the result. |
| Limit | A stress rating. Exceeding it may damage the device. |
| Empty | The parameter and conditions are specified. No value is published until the recorded conditions match. |
Numbers from outside the lab
A number copied from a published document stays a reference. It never enters a measured result. A comparison across classifications is allowed only where both sides permit it, and the page marks that comparison.
Method notes
A note on a result is a versioned method step: a pulse, a precondition, a load, or a similar constraint. It is not a free comment. Changing it is a new method version, and it needs approval before results refill.
