Getting started
How it works
You design the flow. char.io connects, runs, processes, and reports.
Design the test flow as a sequence of measurements, or as a structure of devices, measurements, and conditions. Set the configuration that runs it: instrument settings, conditions, and the method version. char.io connects to the instruments, executes the flow, processes the records, and generates the report.
The path
| Step | What it does |
|---|---|
| Connect | Connect to the instruments. Store fixture, probes, calibration, and settings with the run. |
| Design | Build the test flow and the configuration. |
| Run | Execute the flow you designed. |
| Trace | Cite device, raw record, station, conditions, method, and operator on every result. |
| Process | Condition the record, then extract the parameter. |
| Report | Issue the document. Regeneration is a new version. |
| Version | Move the method. The issued report stays frozen. |
| Govern | Name the owner, the reviewer, the interlock, and the retention rule. |
Recipes compute the number
A recipe is a declared sequence of conditioning and extraction steps. The same recipe on the same raw record produces the same parameter. A change to the method is a new version, and it needs approval before results refill.
An agent may choose a recipe, explain a trim, or state a comparison. The parameter itself comes from the recipe. The lineage records which version ran.
