Connect the station
char.io connects to the instruments and keeps the settings with the run.
A station is the instruments char.io connects to, plus the fixture, the probes, and the calibration state. Settings are stored with every measurement. You design the test flow and the configuration on that station, and char.io runs them.
How you connect
| Path | What char.io does |
|---|---|
| Live instruments | Discover the address over USB, LAN, or GPIB and store the settings snapshot. |
| File import | Accept a curve or export when the measurement already exists. |
| Either path | The same processing and the same report follow. |
Destructive steps
Breakdown, avalanche, and short-circuit require a named interlock before the flow can arm them. The approver is recorded with the run by the governance engine.
